The Reason most people don't hear opportunity knock is
because when it knocks they are in the backyard looking for four
leaf clovers. On your success journey , there is a Goal ,that is
made up of many steps or little goals, make sure you take all
the steps to get you where you want to go. If your nervous take
small steps, but just like a sprinter the start begins
with short steps and as you run your steps turn into a stride,
when your in your stride that is when your moving rapidly
forward towards your goal. We all start from where we are, and
only finish when we quit moving, success is a journey not a
destination. Irish proverb says; You've got to do your own
growing no matter how tall your grandpa is. What are you doing
to help yourself grow? I heard a friend say once I'd rather be
lucky than good any day. I guess he would it take no work to be
lucky. It's no surprise to me that so many want the
rewards without the work. Some are willing to do anything for
success ,when success only asked that you tell it where your
going and that you plan a route. Oh yeah! and start right now
and don't stop till you get to your finish line. "READY, SET,
GO". IN HIM kk

Are you expecting God to help you. Recently I was thinking
about this. God allows challenges to come our way so we
can watch his hand move in our lives. Its is these things that
build our faith. It struck me, the test lies not in God ablity,
but in our faith, If you don't believe He will help, guess what!
your going to be right. The people who believed and
sometimes the odd were overwhelming against them, always did
great things with His help. Its us that needs to be tested not
God. Thank you Lord for my test, the answers are always
either believe or not to believe. When you believe go ahead and
thank him and start ,sometime it only then you see the path
unfold before you as your faith takes action by doing . God
Bless You on your next test. He is in control, kk

When asked what it takes to make a winning team Vince
Lombardi said: There is alot of coaches with good ball clubs who
know the fundamentals and have plenty of discipline but still
don't win games.
Then you come to the third ingredient: if your going to play
togather as a team, you've got to care for one another.
You've got to love each other. Each player has to be thinking
about the next guy and saying to himself: "If I don't block that
man, Paul is going to get his legs. broken. I have to do my job
well in order that that he can do his"
The difference between mediocrity and greatness is the
feeling these guys have for each other..
Strange or is it, that the best teams don't always have the
best players, but they do care about each other. Maybe this is
what the bible means when its says we are to love others as we
love ourselves. If we truely help others we will help
ourselves People don't care about how much you know until they
know how much you care. .. Our team has many parts and they all
need to work togather if we are going to be our best.
Think about our Team. Don't forget to care about each other. In
Him kk

There are times when the very things God sends to help us, we
see as something going wrong in our lives. He's probably
thinking ,why don't you just trust me I know the plans I have
for you, plans to bless and grow you. That reminds me of a
story of a man going to the airport to take a business trip. He
was running late, he was rushing wildly but everything he did to
hurry only made things worse. Things just didn't seem to be
working out. He prayed and asked God to please don't let me miss
my plane . He had a meeting that he thought was very important,,
and if he missed it, it would be terrible. When he arrived at
the airport. he was so close but barely missed the flight , In
his disappointment he look up and asked God why! why couldn't
you have allowed the plane to be running a little late.
Sadly he was leaving and notice a big commotion He didn't even
think to much until later, he heard that a plane crashed on the
runway as it was taking off. That was sad but he even then
didn't know what happen, He was at home that night when he
realized that the plane that crashed was the very plane he was
supposed to be on. Then with out thinking he said to himself
thank God I wasn't on that plane. Sometime the very things that
are sent to be a blessing to us at the time we see as a
disappointment. Thanks you Lord for being in a position to know
what's best for me, Give me the wisdom to trust in you in all
situations even though I can't see, you are working your best
for Me. We sometimes doubt simple because we don't see the whole
picture. I know this of my life, I wouldn't take anything for
what I've gone through because its gotten me to where I am.
Us knowing everything ahead of time God said to paraphrase it ,
in my fathers words "I don't see any need in it" we are just to
know He gives us enough strength for one day at a Time.

Kool! "Sel Not Spel" Recently hired sales person wrote his first sales
report to the home office after working his new territory the first week. It
shocked the sale manager because he suddenly realized that he had hired
someone who was illiterate. Here's what the report said: "I went and seen
this outfit which ain't never bot nothin from us befour and I sole em a good
order. Now I'm movin on to Nu Yourk." The manager was in a panic. But before
he could get hold to the salesman to fire him, he recieved a second report.
It said, " I done been hear fer too days and sole them haff a millyon." Then
the sales manager was really confused. He couldn't keep an illiterant sales
person, but he couldn't fire a sale person who out sold everyone else on the
sales force. So he did what every good middle manager does, He dumped the
problem on the lap of the company's president. The next morning ,everyone
was amazed to see the two letters on the bulletin board along with the
following memo from the president: "We bin spendin weigh two much time
trying to spel in stead of tryin to sel. Lets all get our sails up. Reed
these too letters from hour best salsman. He's doin a grate job all you shud
go out and do like he done." "There is no future in any job. There
future lies in the person who hold s the job." God has done great things
with people who on the outside didn't have very much potenial aren't you
glad he looks at our inside, our heart. Lets always thank him for what He is
doing , "what we see as well as what we don't see" Our trust in his goodness
is where we find peace in the present. Have a grate day. kk

Boy, am I glad to be
back. Guys, I hope you know how much I’ve missed NG football. Coach gives me
up dates every Sunday and tells me that thing are doing pretty good. I know
that we are a little beat up, but guess what? That’s OK. This is football
and you will get hit and bruised. I just hope we are leaving the other team
in worse shape than they leave us.
Sunday, as I was
reading my Bible, a verse stood out to me. It was Matthew 15:34. Jesus
asked his disciples, “ How many loaves do you have?” You see, this was a
very important question since he had been preaching for about three days. He
had people bringing him the sick and lame asking for healing. He realized
that no one had even stopped to eat. That’s a testimony to the kind of
teacher he was. He was more than a man and these people knew it.
Back to his
question, Jesus didn’t worry about what he didn’t have. He wanted to know
what was there to work with. Here is the situation: there were about four
thousand men, not counting women and children, and they were very tired,
hungry, and were a good ways from any source of food - no fast food places
in those days. So Jesus wanted to know what there was to work with. “Seven
loaves and two small fish,” was their reply. Sounds like the beginning of a
big problem to me - lots of hungry people and very little food. Here is
where it starts getting interesting. Jesus, knowing what a great task
was ahead of him, told the crowd to sit down. After giving thanks to God
for what he had, he started breaking the loaves and fish. He gave the
loaves and fish to his disciple who distributed food to all the people in
the crowd. After they were satisfied, he had his disciple collect what was
left . They picked up seven baskets full of food left over.
The lesson here is
this: God just needs us to believe and have faith enough to do what he says.
He does not need all the best things or the smartest or strongest people.
He just needs to know we trust Him and will believe, that whatever the
challenge, He is enough. Our best and His blessing will always be
sufficient. Next time you think something is going to be hard to do - you
might even believe it’s impossible - REMEMBER THAT WITH GOD’S HELP NOTHING
IS IMPOSSIBLE. In Christ, Kim

Knowledge and faith is only good if you act on it.
What good is having
wisdom or even knowing right from wrong if you don’t act on what you know?
If you know that green means go, but you choose not to go on green your
knowledge did not help you.
Make it your goal to
believe. Work with the expectations of God’s blessings and you will see the
fruits of your faith and the power of believing. Show that you believe by
your works instead of having faith without works, which James tells us is
useless. James says you will see his faith by what he does, not just by
what he says. Believe and let it show in your life!

The bible talks about
winning. Paul even says to run the race like you want to win the race.
Paul says that’s why you train and discipline your body. You push yourself
at practice so when the race begins, you’ll be prepared to do your very
best! He even says to win it!!
You know, guys,
you’ve worked so hard this year. I know you have to be proud of what you’ve
accomplished. Coach prepared you so that you would be able to be at your
best against all of your opponents. You were aware of all their plays. You
knew what to expect and how to defend what was being thrown at you. Great
job!
Your offense scored more points than anybody else in our league. We
also had the number one offense in total yards and our backs rushed for more
yards than any other team in the state. We also had the back with the most
rushing yards in the state. Great job, line! You worked hard to accomplish
such a feat as that.
The fact that our defense was ranked very high was a tribute to how
hard they worked. We all know what kind of effort you put into this season.
Thanks to Coach Harrison for scouting the other teams and preparing our
team so well. Thanks to all the Nathanael Greene parents and faculty who
supported their kids and students in such a great way. There were so many
people who put so much effort into our goal.
That’s what great programs are made of. I think we can all be proud of
Nathanael Greene. I know I am! People think I’m crazy the way I brag about
all these Nathanael Greene kids and parents and faculty.
I want to say that I believe we all have worked hard to support a
common goal. That goal was to win and we did a lot of winning this year!!
But as wonderful as this season has been for each of us, let’s not forget
that the reward will be only temporary. Paul warned us not to
overlook the everlasting. He reminded us to strive for the ultimate
reward – the crown of life. We’ve all worked so hard for a temporary
reward. How much harder should we work for the eternal reward – the one
that comes from trusting our lives to Jesus Christ, living for Him, and
loving our neighbors as ourselves? Just think what would happen if we used
this much energy in serving Christ – WOW!
Thank you for sharing your season with me. It was great!! I hope to
see all of you next year. God bless you all.
In Christ,
Kim King

Hey guys, can you see your goal
getting closer? Now’s the time, more than ever, to think about your
goal – where you want to end this season. Your biggest enemy now is not
the other team. You know what they are going to try and do. They want
to beat you and keep you from your goal – the one Coach put in your mind
in February. Your enemy is lack of faith and focus. You must believe
that your plan will work and not let anyone keep you from doing just
what you’ve been taught. Don’t let me hear you coming off the field and
saying things like, “I can’t do it.” “He’s doing this or that or
they’re holding!” Any reason you allow to overcome you will be your
excuse for not winning. Winners don’t use excuses. Let them say NG was
too strong, or quick, or too disciplined, as their excuse for losing.
You don’t need excuses, because if your heart is right and you are
focused, the future is yours!
Once in the bible, Jesus’
disciples were in a bad storm on the Sea of Galilee. They were
frightened and to make matters worse, they saw what looked like a man
walking in the storm on the water. Frightened Peter cried, “Lord, is
that you?” Jesus said, “Yes.” Peter said, “If it’s you, let me come to
you!” Jesus said, “Come to me, Peter.” Peter was so focused on Jesus
he jumped into the sea and began to walk on the water toward the Lord.
He was walking on the water toward Christ, but suddenly, he took his eye
off his God and started looking around at the storm, the size of the
waves, and at the wind. He even began to doubt he could walk on the
water. Overcome with doubt, Peter began to sink. This is important
because Peter’s doubt and lack of focus caused him to sink, not Jesus’
lack of ability to allow him to do something impossible like walk on
water. Peter had the power as long as he had the faith. Put your faith
in Jesus and His ability to do what He says.
What are you focused on? Is it
reasons why you
can’t or why you can? This is just a
game we are playing, but just like in life, do everything you do as if
you are doing it for Our Lord Jesus. Give Him your heart all the time.
Play with character and sportsmanship. Play to help your teammate.
Don’t get sidetracked. Focus on being your best for the best – Our
Lord. You’ll not just win at this game – you’ll win in life!
Life is the biggest game you
will ever play. Jesus is the ultimate coach. God gave us a plan –
FOCUS!
God bless you. I am praying for each
of you and your coach too.
In Christ,
Kim

Hey Guys, I love football because it's a lot like life. If you
don't have a good plan to succeed, you won't be able to accomplish your
goals! Yes, you may play the games, but there is a difference in just
playing and winning the big prize. Coach Harrison and I have done a lot
of praying over the last several years to find that spot where he could
coach and be a significant part in kids life. God gives us all certain
talents, and we must try to use them to Gods glory. God blessed Coach
Harrison with a gift of coaching kids and through his prayers and the
prayers of other people, he has been lead to Nathanael Greene. Coach
comes with a proven plan. We have seen it work time and time again, and
we know it can lead you to the best season ever, but guys, you have to
believe it too! That it is the best plan, and that if you are doing all
that you have been taught, it will work. Just knowing it won't do you
any good, for you must execute it! Jesus talks about how you
must build your house on solid rock rather than on sand. In life, you
will be introduced to many plans, and if you follow the right one, your
ultimate success is guaranteed. The world will give you a plan and God
gives you a plan. To buy into the world's plan, you are building your
spiritual house on sand. You will be temped with drugs, alcohol and
sexual immorality and even temped to cheat and steal. Remember, If you
buy into the world's plan, you will loose your soul and if that happens,
you will have lost everything! But God tells you to build your
(spiritual) house on solid rock. This is a proven plan - a plan
that comes with all you need to win - it comes with Jesus Christ!
Guys, God brought us together so we could share this message. Yes, you
are going to have some battles in life. Yes, you may doubt your ability
to succeed at times. But put your FAITH in Jesus and His plan, and you
will be guaranteed to win in this life and the one to come. In Christ,
Kim King (Chaplain)
